Anduin – Abandoned in Sleep

Anduin’s album Abandoned in Sleep is so appropriately titled. This record lulls the listener into a false sense of security and punishes them for it with harrowing, dark and sometimes creepy moments. Not the geek hitting on you creepy but the wow, that harmonica off in the distance surrounded by nothing but pitch black and cold air is creepy, creepy.

The album is extremely dark and ambient swelling and calming and unnerving throughout. The aforementioned harmonica is something so suprising that you second guess your ears as it rises, it certainly creates a distinct atmosphere around the drones. It’s scary, it’s dark, but it challenges the consumer to grab on for the ride.
